Have you ever been to The Container Store?
I’ve never been inside of one
but I’ve recently shopped online.
I think I’d never leave
if I ever had the chance to go inside!
The closest Container Store is far, far away
so online is as close as it gets.
I can’t believe it took me this long to finally check them out.
My teacher friends rant and rave about this place.
So, how did The Container Store finally enter my life?
It happened a few weeks ago.  Oh, the horror.
I opened my cabinets and finally saw it.

“It” being the unbelievable cluttered mess
that I usually ignore.

YIKES!

It’s bad.
Don’t judge.
One day I’ll show you my pantry
and you’ll think highly of my organizational skills again.
I thought, “If I could just containerize these
into respective bins,
this would look much better!”
Enter Container Store.
I found this cd holder:

and this dvd holder:

They’re made of a seatbelt-like material and strong metal
so they’re very sturdy.
The dimensions were EXACTLY what I needed.
They were basically made for my cabinet!
Still waiting for the other products I ordered,
including ONE MORE DVD BOX for the top shelf.
Apparently they’re still on back order
but I haven’t heard anything –
it’s been a bit too long if you ask me.
Here are a few more ideas for the boxes:
A few days after ordering, this honkin’ box
arrived on my doorstep:
I couldn’t tear into it fast enough.
I also ordered some canvas bins for my closet shelf –
That’s why it’s so big.
Please tell me why I get so excited to organize!?!
The four smaller containers are assigned as follows,
“His daily stuff” (vitamins, etc)
“My daily stuff”
“Kid Stuff”
“Other Stuff” (Tylenol, Excedrine, Motrin, Cold Stuff).
The two larger containers are for party stuff like
hats, balloons, candles, streamers, etc.
Wow! It’s so nice to just grab the right container
and not have to search ON MY TIPPY TOES,
reaching into the back of the cabinet
for a medicine dropper.
Plus, it looks so much better when I open the doors.
Just imagine one more bin on the very top.
Still waiting!
How did I NOT see this mess before now?

  1. I love the Container Store, too, but they can be pricey dicey. Sometimes I get good ideas from them and then see what Wally World has. Around Christmastime CS has the nicest stocking stuffers and gift wrap. I LOVE organizing things and being able to find what I need when I need it! (:

  2. The cabinet looks much better, great job! I sure have been to the container store and let me tell you…I could wander around all day. Like Gina, I like to get ideas from them and then buy cheaper at Wal-Mart or Amazon.com.

  3. I love all things that are created to remove clutter:) I don't have one near me but love Target and often buy containers. I heard of this place. Was it on the today show or something! Will have to go online:) They look fabulous! YAY! Happy Friday!:)

  4. I love organizing!!! I just finally moved around some furniture in my house so that I can re-organize my kitchen and pantry. I was sooo excited to finally get that furntiure moved! LOL
